Who Are We?

We are the Hereditary Witches' Council, an international collective of men and women raised as witches. We were born into our witchcraft, and were reared to honor the traditions of our families. For centuries we have kept these traditions alive; many of us practicing our craft in darkness, silence, and secrecy to protect our families, our faiths, and ourselves.

Today we strive to shine in the light. While persecution and misunderstanding still exist, tolerance and education have made our world a safer one for witches. We have emerged from the shadows to reveal the true face of hereditary witchcraft: a celebration of family, of parrion, of legacies steeped in love.

The HWC sponsors gatherings, retreats, and conferences for others raised in the craft. We hope to celebrate, perpetuate, and lift up those teachings passed on to us with honor, dignity, and wisdom.

The HWC is not a teaching organization for others seeking knowledge. We do not convert, instruct, or recruit. Our purpose is to continue the traditions of our parents, grand parents, and great grandparents, and to support one another in sustaining these ways. Those seeking a new path are welcomed to the way, but we walk an old path and our purpose is to be of assistance to families and solitaries staying that course.

We are a not a profit centered organization and do not accept or solicit funds of any kind.
